Now that Maryland has made it possible for you to apply for your marriage license online and have a virtual ceremony, you no longer have to postpone your special day.  

In The Modern Minimony , you can go Big and go Small, all at the same time!  You’ll be able to prioritize spending quality time with a few local loved ones (at a safe social distance, of course,) while as many guests as you like can join the festivities on a live stream.  

​Best of all, the Minimony is an all inclusive package.  We'll can organize almost everything:  a professional photographer, tech support-- even a mini-bouquet and a mini-cake!
This is a case where less is totally more —  with no pressure, just love. And you should absolutely do it.

How Does It Work?

CHOOSE YOUR DATE + LOCATION

If you’re interested in a Modern Minimony, check out our packages and pricing and get in touch with us.  If you have special place in mind, we'll ask you to make arrangements -- or we can organize one of our beautiful sites for you.  (During Covid, we can only do weddings in outdoor locations.)  Then, we’ll choose a date:  we need a minimum of two weeks to create an awesome wedding. We'll collect a deposit to book your date & time, and then we’ll get to the fun stuff!

​​CUSTOMIZE YOUR WEDDING

Once your date and location are chosen, we'll schedule a longer consultation during which I'll get a sense of your style and wishes.  A tiny ceremony can still be a meaningful and personal expression of who you are as a couple.  You can add readings, unity ceremonies, write your own vows, or leave the whole thing to us!  Explore some of our sample ceremonies to see what resonates with you!

​INVITE YOUR  LOVED ONES

Email, e-vite, call, text, and get the word out about your day.  We can only accommodate six on-site people (you, your partner, and four guests.)  We'll be practicing best social distancing manners, and we'll ask you and your guests to do the same.

But the best part about a virtual wedding?  There's no cost for more guests -- so why not invite them all!

GET YOUR MARRIAGE LICENSE!

Marylanders must get their license in the county in which the ceremony will be held, but you can do all of this on-line.   Please go here for information:

THEN, GET MARRIED!

On your wedding day, we’ll meet you at the location ceremony and portrait session.  A bite of cake, a sip of champagne, and in about an hour we’ll send you off a newly married couple!

WEDDING PHOTOS

About 2 weeks after your wedding, you’ll receive a link to your online gallery where you can view, share, and download your wedding photos at full resolution. You’re free to print, post, and share away!
