Creating custom ceremonies and celebrations runs in my family, and I’m proud to continue that tradition. In a colorful career that spanned decades, my great-grand uncle Rabbi Sigmund presided over weddings for high society debutantes, gangsters on the lam, and everyone in-between. In the next generation, my mother founded Modern Ceremonies (New York,) and has conducted more than 300 weddings in the New York tri-state region. My sister-in-law, Laura Himmelein-Muson, is a leading event designer in New Jersey, where she owns and operates LH Event Design. Modern Ceremonies Baltimore is the newest branch of the family business -- and it’s a joy and a privilege to carry on the practice of making beautifully detailed celebrations that perfectly reflect your unique style.
I am a classically trained stage director and Professor of Theatre at University of Maryland, Baltimore. Productions of my plays have been seen in New York, Baltimore, Boston, Washington, D.C. Edinburgh, and Prague. Having spent decades as a teacher and practitioner of live performance, I bring confidence and a relaxed, engaging stage presence to your ceremony. More importantly, I know how to shine the spotlight on you, and help you take center stage on your special day!
I am an Ordained Clergy Person of the Church of Spiritual Humanism, and qualified to conduct weddings, commitment ceremonies, baby namings, vow renewals, and other holiday celebrations throughout Maryland, Delaware, Washington D.C., and Virgina.
